Episode 84 Namaste, We are Shirish and Pooja and Welcome to a Makar Sankrant Special Episode of @RedSoilStories Makar Sankrant is the first festival of the New Year in India, It is celebrated throughout India with various names names. In Maharashtra we celebrate it by making winter specific sweets, perform a ritual called Haldi Kunku which includes women meet each other and greet each other. Women prefer wearing Black saree on this day in most of the part of Maharashtra. Also various sweets are prepared such as Tilache Ladu ( तीळाचे लाडू ), Gul Poli ( Jaggery pancake ), Tilachi Vadi, Shengdana Chikki, Dalichi Chikki, Til Chikki, Bhogichi Bhaji ect. Last year we prepare Bhogichi Bhaji and Bhogichi Thali. This is Pooja will prepare Tilache ladu and Four types of chikki. On the day of Makar Sankrant our Neighbour came at our home for the Haldi Kunku Ritual and had the sweets made by Pooja. Let us know how do you liked this episode..!
